For 1962, Chevrolet made the new 409 cubic inch V8 available in all models. Introduced this year was an all new roof design which would carry on through the 1964 model year. The 1962 Bel Air 2 door still used the same "bubble top" roof as the 1961 model. The station wagon model names were discontinued for 1962, in favor of Biscayne, Bel Air, and Impala matching the same trim levels of other body styles.
