Prototype Clay Models – 1963 1964 Chevrolet

These are GM design studio photos taken of prototype drawings and clay models. Some of the pictures have the date noted on them. Typically, the design elements preceed the production car by about 2 or 3 years. Fortunately some of these designes were only done in clay… Yikes! The photos are dated 1960, 1961 and 1962, but you can clearly see that they predict many of the styling features of the 1963 and 1964 models. Some show deluxe trim that would indicate they were thinking of the Impala line.
