1963 ChevroletChevrolet dropped the Bel Air 2 door hard top "bubble top" for 1963, but continued all other body styles that were offered in 1962. New additions for 1963 were an even more improved 409 V8 that could put out 425 bhp when equipped with dual 4-bbl carbs. Chevrolet also sold a special racing edition equipped with a special Z-11 427 cubic inch engine rated at 430 bhp, but it reportedly could easily crank out 500 bhp!
